DuPont Qualicon offers the Bax system as a performance tested method for detecting in food products and for detecting in eggs. The PCR assay for previously was validated by AOAC with proprietary enrichment media on environmental surfaces only, but now food companies and service labs can use non-proprietary media with the Bax system for reliable detection in both food and environmental samples. Compared to reference methods used by the US Department of Agriculture Food Safety and Inspection Service for detecting , AOAC found that Bax results were statistically indistinguishable from the culture methods.
