Fire at Kansas, USA, dog treat plant leaves co-owners arrested

Two owners allegedly pushed firefighter, police officer while trying to enter burning building

      Release Date: Comments(0)

A recent fire at a Kansas, USA, dog treat manufacturing plant resulted in the company's co-owners being arrested over disputes with fire and police officials, according to reports.

The fire at TreatCo, located in Wichita, Kansas, USA, began in the section of the plant used to dry pig ears for dog treats. After the initial blaze was extinguished by firefighters, another began in a different section of the plant that burned boxes, packaging material and animal fat.

The company's co-owners, a 52-year-old man and a 54-year-old woman, were arrested the night of the fire after allegedly shoving a firefigher and police officer out of their way while trying to enter the burning manufacturing plant to shut off utilities, reports say. The two were taken to jail for battery of a law enforcement officer and interfering with firefighters, according to jail records.
