Petfood Forum 2009 Guidelines for abstracts
Abstracts must be received no later than September 30, 2008

The Petfood Forum 2009 organizing committee invites the submission of abstracts for noncommercial oral and poster presentations in the following topic areas:

  • Nutrition and ingredients;
  • Packaging;
  • Safety and regulatory issues;
  • Processing and production subjects;
  • Market data, trends and predictions;
  • Company profiles; and
  • New products.

General information

Abstracts received by the organizing committee of the Petfood Forum 2009 will be reviewed for content, relevance and adherence to abstract guidelines. No abstract may be submitted that will have been published or presented prior to the Petfood Forum 2009. 

Abstracts which are similar in title or content to previously presented material should include significant new information to be considered for presentation. Authors will be required to sign a copyright release to permit publication of the abstract.

Mailing instructions 

Abstracts should be submitted by e-mail, formatted for Microsoft Word. A cover page/email providing the abstract title and the name, address, telephone and e-mail address of the corresponding author must be provided with the abstract. Indicate in the cover letter if an oral or poster presentation is preferred. However, the organizing committee will determine the ultimate format (oral v. poster) for presentation. 

Abstracts must be written in English, be no more than 300 words, and fit on one page. Abstracts must be received no later than September 30, 2008.

Organize the body of the abstract as follows:

• The purpose of the presentation.
• A concise list of 3-5 useful “take-home points.”
• Information presented in sufficient detail to support the conclusions and “take home points.”
• A 50-100 word biography of the potential presenter. Please cite public speaking experience.
