The Nutriment Company, a provider of premium natural pet food, has acquired Totally Natural Pet Products (TNPP), a Scottish raw dog food manufacturer.

The acquisition expands The Nutriment Company's portfolio of premium natural pet food brands and further strengthens its position in the Central European market, said the company.

“Totally Natural Pet Products has been on our radar for some time as they have been rapidly expanding in the UK over the last few years," said Anders Kristiansen, CEO of The Nutriment Company. "Their unique free-flow product is something that many of our customers are increasingly requesting and that was previously missing from our portfolio."

TNPP specializes in the production of raw dog food and natural dog treats and operates from a production facility close to Glasgow, Scotland. TNPP has over 30 years of experience in manufacturing top quality raw dog food and said it prides itself on an ethical approach to sourcing high quality ingredients from selected reputable suppliers as well as using human-grade cuts of meat.

Acquisition completed by the end of April

TNPP products are predominantly sold to pet specialists in the United Kingdom in a free-flow format which enables customers to defrost and portion in order to meet their dogs' nutritional requirements. Using only 100% natural ingredients as well as being free from artificial additives, grains and fillers, TNPP's various products offer a wide range of flavors and recipes to meet the nutritional requirements and preferences of a wide range of dog breeds.

The acquisition, which is expected to be completed by the end of April, marks an important step in the strategy of both companies to further consolidate and expand their position in the growing market for high-quality, natural pet food.

"We are thrilled about becoming part of The Nutriment Company," said TNPP co-CEOs Campbell Kyle and William Stewart in a joint statement. "We look forward to working together to expand opportunities for our team and customers alike.”

Headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, The Nutriment Company has nine production facilities, offers 10 premium brands focused on natural, high-quality pet food products and sells a wide range of products -- from raw pet food (BARF) to natural, innovative snacks and natural supplements. The company is owned by the Nordic private equity group, Axcel.
