Sunshine Mills buys Red Collar facility to boost pet treat capacity

The facility will increase Sunshine Mills baked and cold-formed pet treat production capacity.

Alabama-based pet food and treat maker Sunshine Mills acquired the Red Collar Pet Foods plant in Joplin, Missouri, reported the Joplin Globe. The facility will increase Sunshine Mills baked and cold-formed pet treat production capacity. The 200,000 square foot plant employs approximately 130 people.

The pet food treat production facility was originally built by Hampshire Pet Products in 2001 and sold to Red Collar in 2019. Florida-based Arbor Investments owns Red Collar. Sunshine Mills is a family owned and operated business.
