Scoular has been selected as a 2024 US Best Managed Company, the second year in a row it has received the designation. Now in its fifth year, the award, sponsored by Deloitte Private and The Wall Street Journal, recognizes the achievements of U.S. private companies and the successes of their management teams.

“This recognition truly speaks to the incredible work of Scoular’s 1,400 employees across our company,” said CEO Paul Maass. “Their dedication to innovation and to our customers and our producers is what sets up apart.”

US Best Managed Companies is part of a global Deloitte Private program. Honorees are selected by an external panel of judges who evaluate applicants based on strategy, ability to execute, culture, and governance and financial performance. They join an ecosystem of organizations from more than 44 countries.

In February, Petsource by Scoular completed a $75 million expansion at its Seward, Nebraska, plant that is designed to deliver extra capacity to help current pet food customers grow and space to accommodate new customers seeking production at its state-of-the-art facility. The company said the tripling of capacity also enables customers to more efficiently introduce new products to the market, with the expansion providing an additional 70,000 square feet of freeze-dried pet food ingredient manufacturing space.
