Women in Petfood Leadership (WiPL) will host its Mentor Mingle networking and mentoring event on August 14, 2025, during SuperZoo in Las Vegas. The innovative event, designed to accelerate professional development and build meaningful connections, will take place in the DJ Lounge adjacent to the Natural and Health section of the SuperZoo trade show floor.

The Mentor Mingle reimagines traditional networking by adopting a fast-paced, high-energy format modeled after speed dating. This unique approach pairs emerging leaders with experienced professionals in short, rotating conversations designed to maximize meaningful interactions and actionable insights.

"We wanted to create something that would cut through the usual networking small talk and deliver real value in a dynamic, engaging format," Laura Moran, founder and CEO of LPM Innovate and one of the event's organizers. "The rotating structure ensures every participant can connect with multiple mentors and peers while tackling the topics that matter most to career advancement."

Flexible format for every professional

Participants can choose their own adventure with two distinct engagement options:

Structured Mentoring: Join one of three rotating group discussions led by industry mentors, with each 20-minute session focusing on critical professional development topics including:

  • Building self-confidence and self-advocacy
  • Managing imposter syndrome
  • Strategic thinking and decision-making
  • Navigating career transitions and advancement

Informal Networking: Connect with peers and WiPL members in a relaxed networking area, perfect for organic conversations and relationship building.

The event's continuous rotation format allows participants to move seamlessly between both areas based on their interests and energy levels. Greeters will be stationed throughout the venue to help attendees navigate and find the perfect fit for their experience.

Measurable impact for career growth

The Mentor Mingle promises three key takeaways for participants, noted Moran:

  1. Tactical Insight: Real-world advice and proven tools shared by experienced leaders who have navigated similar challenges in the pet food industry.
  2. New Relationships: Direct peer connections and potential mentorship opportunities that extend beyond the event itself.
  3. Renewed Confidence: The inspiration and energy needed to advance careers, backed by practical strategies and a supportive community.

Participants will rotate through mentoring sessions and networking opportunities during WiPL's innovative Mentor Mingle event, gaining tactical insights and building relationships that inspire professional growth.Participants will rotate through mentoring sessions and networking opportunities during WiPL's innovative Mentor Mingle event, gaining tactical insights and building relationships that inspire professional growth.Paul Ward Photography
