Purina grew at low single-digits in first 9-months of 2024

Premium brands Purina ProPlan, Purina ONE and Fancy Feast drove much of this growth with continued sales momentum.

During the first nine months of 2024, Purina PetCare delivered low single-digit growth for parent company Nestle. Premium brands Purina ProPlan, Purina ONE and Fancy Feast drove much of this growth with continued sales momentum. Purina’s sales worldwide reached CHF 14.015 million (US$16.184 million), compared to CHF 14.012 million (US$16.180 million) during the first nine months of 2023.

Purina’s performance wasn’t uniform globally. In North America Purina PetCare gained market share and was the largest contributor with low single-digit growth, led by Purina Pro Plan, Fancy Feast and Friskies. Meanwhile, in Latin America, Purina posted flat growth, supported by Felix and Friskies. In Europe though, Purina also gained market share and was the largest contributor to growth with mid-single-digit growth, driven by premium brands Purina ONE, Gourmet and Pro Plan. Asia likewise delivered mid single-digit growth, led by Felix and Purina One. In China, the division continued to grow at a double-digit rate, building on new product launches and continued e-commerce momentum for Purina Pro Plan and Friskies.

2024 (May): Nestlé Purina is making a strategic investment of $220 million to expand its plant in Silao, Guanajuato, aimed at significantly enhancing its manufacturing capabilities in Mexico.

2024 (April): Nestlé Purina PetCare is expanding its production facility in Jefferson, Wisconsin. The US$195 million project will increase production of wet pet food brands in Jefferson by nearly 50%, including Pro Plan, Fancy Feast and Beneful IncrediBites, and add 35,000 square feet to the facility. Purina’s US$195 million project is expected to bring an additional 100 jobs to the community it has called home since 1910.

2024 (April): Nestlé is investing €472 million (US$507 million) to open a pet food factory in Mantua, Italy. The 180,000-square-meter (1.9 million-square-foot) plant will produce wet pet food, and is scheduled to be completed by 2027 and will employ 300 people
