Swedish pet food manufacturer The Nutriment Company has completed the acquisition of raw pet food processor Natural Instinct, which is based in the UK.

Specializing in the production of raw, frozen dog food and natural treats, Natural Instinct is a family-owned business that sells raw pet food for dogs and cats. Its products are designed with human-grade meats, fresh fruits and vegetables. The company said it doesn't use artificial preservatives, fillers, added water, colorants or bone meal.

"We’ve taken a significant step towards growth and signed a binding agreement with the renowned British raw pet food specialist Natural Instinct – and we couldn’t be more proud," the company said. "This acquisition is a huge milestone for us and brings us closer to our vision of cementing ourselves as a leading player in central Europe. By joining forces with one of the oldest and most prestigious British raw pet food manufacturers, we are expanding our portfolio and strengthening our position in the UK."

Natural Instinct joins The Nutriment Company’s portfolio of pet food brands, including AniForte, Barfgold, Nova, RAUH!, Energique, Carnibest, Leo & Wolf and Totally Natural Pet Products, which the company acquired in April

Headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, The Nutriment Company has nine production facilities, offers 10 premium brands focused on natural, high-quality pet food products and sells a wide range of products -- from raw pet food (BARF) to natural, innovative snacks and natural supplements. The company is owned by the Nordic private equity group, Axcel.
