Although included in Russia’s import restrictions on dog and cat foods earlier this year, the Italian pet food industry will likely continue to grow in 2024. For example in April, Nestlé Purina PetCare announced plans to invest €472 million (US$507 million) to open a pet food factory in Mantua, Italy. The 180,000-square-meter (1.9 million-square-foot) plant will produce wet pet food and is scheduled to be completed by 2027.

Italy's pet food market may reach US$3.92 billion in 2024 with compound annual growth of 2.10% from 2024 to 2029, according to Statista.

The Italy-based pet food companies listed below appear in the Top Pet Food Companies database. The annual revenues are from 2023.
