Oterra, the world’s leading supplier of natural colors, announces the appointment of Martin Sonntag as its new CEO as of January 1, 2024.
Currently a member of the Doehler executive leadership team, Sonntag has been instrumental in achieving significant growth of the Doehler business and strengthening the company’s position in the food and beverage ingredients market.
Previously Sonntag, inter alia, was with the Dow Chemical Company where he held technical, manufacturing and commercial roles of increasing responsibility in a highly international setting. Prior to joining Doehler, Sonntag worked at Ingredion, a US listed ingredients supplier, where he was a member of the executive leadership team.
“Martin is an experienced international leader with a strong track-record in the global food and beverage ingredients industry. His plug-and-play knowledge will surely solidify and accelerate Oterra’s further development and growth in the coming years” said Cees de Jong, chairman of the board of directors.

Sonntag is a German national, who holds a chemical engineering degree from Hamburg University. He will lead the company out of Oterra’s headquarter in Hørsholm, Denmark.
